I am in NZ (South Island), and have been having a few backyard chickens for the last 4 years.
I had Hyline Brown, Brown Shaver, Cochin, and Araucana.
I just love watching them (I can spend all day watching my chickens!)

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
