My coop and run doesnt sound as secure as yours and I never close the door between them. I also set out a pre-emptive strike against predators with traps out all the time. It all depends on your predator (including neighborhood dogs) situation. I think only you can decide this one for sure...
I love the coop. Great idea with the vinyl floor. I'm going to have to try that. has this been done before? was wondering about the slipperyness of it under chicken-foot.
I had a string on the latch after my first lock-in.
Somehow I keep finding it outside the coop though.

I guess I always assumed the tractor was a daytime run only. I didn't know they were used as permanent coops as well. Glad I learned something new today.
Four feet should be lots of room for your chickens, unless they're a very large breed. I usually get about six or seven in a four foot area. they like to squish up together at night. Why a roost in a tractor though?
