My first hatch this happened as well. I would put them in a small bowl or container and lined it with moist paper towels and place the duckling on it and put him back in the incubator until it’s absorbed. It’s normal. You just got them at the early stage of them developing. They grow quickly and before they hatch they will take up all of that empty space besides where the air sac is. I I’m glad you mentioned that because I did have to assist with the hatch. I had to help three eggs. Two didn’t ever pip on their own. So I carefully and quickly took them out of the incubator and poked a hole in their eggs to help them and placed them back in the incubator. 24 hours later... -

This is the first time I have ever incubated eggs. I had 14 duck eggs being incubated in a still air incubator. I have had 10 of them hatch. There are two left that have externally pipped yesterday. I also lost two due to one dying in the egg and one that was first to hatch that didn’t absorb...
