    Scaly leg mites?

    Thanks. Our birds do not roost though. The have a roosting board but they just sleep on the coop floor. I have always found that strange though.

    Hi there. Think our three ladies might have scaly leg mites? I only noticed today so waited until they were sleeping to check (they are impossible to catch otherwise). It's been very very wet recently (we live in Ireland so it's always wet here) and the back garden is pretty much just a muck...

    Anyone any ideas what breed Hennypenny is?

    It also looks like one of the chicks has a mutant back toe. I thought it was five toed at first but it's only on one foot, and it looks like the chick doesn't have any control over it. It just kind of flaps. Should I be concerned?

    It seems to be the general consensus that she is part silkie anyway. What about silver sebright? I found this picture on the site here which mentions a silkie / silver sebright cross: (buttons) http://cdn.backyardchickens.com/2/29/350x700px-LL-292dcdf5_Birds041.jpeg She looks very similar.
