I am not necessarily 'considering' organic feed. I know that if I get chicks or chickens I will most definitely use organic feed. I have already known this for quite a while, as I myself and my family eat organically...
I plan on eating and feeding my family the eggs the hens will be providing...

It may sound that way, but what about when people ask you why you are not certified organic? Because your not reaching the requirements.
Organic means no chemicals; pesticides: Insecticides, Herbicides, Rodenticides, Bactericides...

I don't know what your budget is, but if I were you I would avoid non-organic wheat, corn, and soy as much as possible. Those three ingredients are crops sprayed the most with pesticides, etc... They can be causing more harm than good to your chickens and yourself if your eating...

I disagree. I live organically, and do not believe that vaccinating our chicks and chickens is a good idea. Besides, all things happen for a reason. But if you don't vaccinate, and make sure your chickens immune is strong, you will most likely not run into problems.
