    Manual chicken plucker?

Slaughtered and processed my first 5 chickens today, and I would definitely like a plucker for the next time! Has anyone heard of one that is manual? Not battery or electricity powered.

    Put eggs in carton?

First time hatching, so excited and nervous! My 24 red ranger eggs should arrive today. My homemade incubator fits a 24- egg carton perfectly, but the eggs would be sitting vertically, not horizontally. Is this a problem? A lot of pictures show eggs laying on their side. Sadly my incubator...

Chickens sleep (and poop) in nesting boxes, won't roost

Yes, the roost is outside in the run. There is a roof that covers the top half of the open area. As you can see from the picture, there's no space to add a roost in the cozy coop area

Chickens sleep (and poop) in nesting boxes, won't roost

Hello all! We have a portable, A-frame style coop. It's a very simple design that looks much like this one: http://www.homedit.com/do-it-yourself-chicken-coop/ Our issue is that our chickens are sleeping huddled in and on the nesting boxes. We have several laying, so blocking off the boxes...
