We Raised our first set of Cornish X this year... started with 24 only lost one. Sent them to freezer camp last month... now 23 nice birds in the freezer... I'm set with chicken for awhile...
So we did the year end tally for eggs this year... we got our chickens in march 2010 and raised them from babies... june or july we got our first egg... from 22 girls we got .......1109 EGGS!!!! WAY TO GO CHICKIES!!!! ...
I just read in a hatchery notes that @ 5 days old you should feed cornish x 12 hours, and then take the food away for 12 hours, doing this in a cycle until they are ready to harvest, this will keep them from having heart attcks and loosing the birds...
We bought our first batch of chickens in March this year and between to good to pass up deals and people giving us there easter chickens, [because the darnedes thing they get bigger] we ended up with right @ 50 chickens... Well through a few death by random things we ended up with 36+ chickens...
