I was so lucky to be a librarian. I enjoyed working most of the time, which about as good as you get at any job, I think. I was able to support my family, and have a reasonably good work/life balance. But retirement is so much better! Wow! Lovin' it. I was worried that I would be bored. Hah!
I have been married since 1978, but just in the fall, 2021, had to put my husband into memory care for Alzheimer's. He seems to be well cared for and content, and I know he is much safer where he is. But I am going through a sort of grieving process now. I think there is space finally, to say goodbye to all the things that have been slipping away into chaos over the last years.
We have 2 kids who are both grown. No grandchildren. 2 small dogs. A Shih Tzu (2 y.o. female, named Mochi), and a Coton de Tulear (just turned 4, male, Bodie). Bodie is going blind. Both dogs have been neutered, so no grandpuppies. Perhaps this is why I have turned to chickens?? I am very excited to get my first chicks in late April, 2022. 3 Buckeye hens, 2 Golden Buff hens and 1 "mealmaker" mystery hen that Meyer threw in free to make the package work, I think. I will send photos when chickens arrive.
