Awwwe this breaks my heart, this poor little girl disappeared on Friday! Left the house to take dogs for a walk so Noone was home and in those 40 minutes, by the time I got back, she was no where to be found?! No sign of bird attack, or any trace of her... the chickens were free roaming around...

Just an update, she is doing well and fine again back to hanging out with her friends since a couple weeks, almost fully feathered again. What a miracle! 🥰

Sorry to hear 😢. Hope you ended her suffering, a chopping block ends her instantly as you separated the whole nerve system, there is no pain. This is heartbreaking but you really learn alot everytime something happens with chickens. From the pictures she looked too far gone, best to treat stuff...

She's back and survived the vet visit! Doing quite well, eating and drinking just fine, very feisty little girl. Apparently she even laid an egg 🤭☺ They did a fantastic job on her, didn't think that enormous open wound could be surtured up that nicely 🙂

Yes we were honestly in a pinch, and as I grow my own herb we figured boiling it will extract enough in the moment to calm her down& relief some pain so she can rest up easier, basically like a tea. It did the trick in a pinch as I have some strong, strong stuff and her little body wouldn't need...

Thank you, that is really the least we can try to do for her right now, she needs that wound closed up, the vet said she seen her spine at one point, but I know she was moving around just fine, no paralysis. I believe everything deserves a fair chance to live, even a chicken. Btw. the bird...

So the chicken went to the vet today, she said either it was euthanize her or suture her up ( guess they can do it), tho chances are it will cause her alot of stress and possibly death, for $250 CAD ($180 USD roughly). Worth a try! So we decided to get her sutured up as she was drinking& eating...
