    Another Rooster Culling Question..

Their purpose? To perpetuate the flock at some point I guess, they were hand raised, all of them are friendly and can be handled fine, not too much difference in them at this point for breeding... I added 6, 18 wk old pullets recently, that may have started this little issue...

    Another Rooster Culling Question..

I have 3 Speckled Sussex Roosters that hatched together, they're about 8 months old... My question is which would be better to cull out, the second dominate or the bottom man on the pole, who now gets run off by #2. The dominate seems to get along with both, number 2 is creating the problem...

    Diatomaceous Earth question

That's a lot of ignorance in one post. DE is not powdered rock. Diatomaceous earth is the remains of microscopic one-celled plants called diatoms that lived in the oceans and lakes, these deposits are mined from underwater beds or dried lake bottoms. They contain 15 beneficial trace...

    Diatomaceous Earth question

It not the DE, any dust is harmful to breath into your lungs. It won't affect your chickens, food grade DE has many benefits, it eliminates pests in the digestive tract, and allows more of the protein to be absorbed and utilized as well...

A neighbors pack of dogs killed 6 of mine last week, I started the 4 wheeler, grabbed a .40 and headed his way, only to find 4 of his dogs still on my property and having chicken lunch, rolled up and popped 2 there, rolled a third as he headed home.... Just waiting patiently to finish the rest...

Using Orange Guard on Cockroaches in a Coop

You'd be much better off not using a toxic product like Sevin. Use DE or Spinosad for bugs, Spinosad is selective, it doesn't harm good insects, only the bad.....and Orange Guard is fine as well... Sevin...

    Worming chickens

Quote: Click on the links I posted... I've been in the Organic amendment business for many years, there have been countless studies, many by big name Universities that verify the benefits of food grade DE when used internally, I have used it for over 10 years myself, and have seen the changes...

    Worming chickens

Ask any vet. Sigh...perhaps you should follow your own opinion... INTERNAL PARASITE CONTROL: Food grade diatomaceous earth makes a very effective natural insecticide. The insecticidal quality of diatomaceous earth is due to the razor sharp edges of the diatom remains. When diatomaceous earth...

    Worming chickens

Quote: DE is not a worm preventative nor a wormer... it is ineffective when it is wet...just like inside the wet innards of a chicken. I said... "DE will kill parasites in the digestive tract" Which it will. It is not ineffective when used in this manner. It is proven to work this way... Do...
