My 5 2olds and 5 1yr olds were down to 2-3 eggs a day until I put in a light on a timer. Nothing crazy. On at 5:30am off at 6:30pm and I'm up to 7-8 eggs a day now. Selling Chicken Eggs
That's crazy! I'm selling mine for $4 doz. My free range organic chickens make the best eggs and the garbage that is sold at the grocery store shouldn't even be called eggs. "Wal-Marts eggs are $1.89" and aren't on the same playing field as the ones raised by ethical non caged methods. No... -
It is safe to leave my dog with my chickens?
All of the time. He has a dog door and comes and goes as he pleases. Chickens are out all day. He comes in and sits on the floor for an hour or so and goes out to check on them and comes right back in and naps.- bpre6606

It is safe to leave my dog with my chickens?
My pitbull is around my five free range girls unattended all of the time. He's interested in the new chicks but only to smell them. He only 10 months old and he does a pretty good job of protecting them.- bpre6606

Does anyone else Free Range?
I do, my 5 girls are almost 2yrs old and I open up the coop in the morning and they roam around the back yard with my dog and go back to the coop at night. I'm adding 5 more soon. They seem to be happy.- bpre6606
