I want to use these when I take my chicks outside next week so I got a rabbit water bottle to let them try and learn first. For about a week they didn't want anything to do with it, now thats the only way they will drink, so I am pretty confident they will like the nipples.
I switched to pine pellets two days ago, they are mixed with carbon. I got them at TSC, and I gotta say, these are the best things ever. No smell at all (and I mean none). I am gonna work on a custom made scooper to clean poop out, just a tad too big to fit through a litter scoop. Chicks...
Thanks for the help guys! They are about 4 weeks. The temps have been in the mid 70's daytime and mid high 50's at night, except for this weekend(cold and had tornado sirens going off Friday!) It will be a couple more weeks I'm sure. Weather in NW Ohio is so unpredictable.
Are they considered fully feathered when their bodies are all feathered but not their neck and heads? Or does everything need be? Asking because I am gonna move them outside soon and they are feathered all but neck and heads. Thanks
