    How much do you feed your all day free range chickens?

    During the day i sometimes pick up some of the tame hens to check crops for food. They allways pretend we starving them ! In summer they graze grass like sheep. Some forage more than others and lying in the sun at the backdoor is common.

    i feed to the lower end of that as they free range for half of the day, and they get plenty from that. bugs & grass. on some occasions they get more when i cant let them out.

    yes, aren’t Brahmas beautiful? especially as the little chics grow and feathers appear. i’m still at a loss on what thrue pedigree colors are. every one of mine is different.

    New member. 10yr keeping variety of chickens. Brahmas now. previously Blue Orpingtons and Light Sussex. They have secure coop, large double run space with trees in mornings then free range afternoons. still have lots to learn on how to effectively house, feed, manage, breed and medicate them...
