    How much food per chicken?

    i feed to the lower end of that as they free range for half of the day, and they get plenty from that. bugs & grass. on some occasions they get more when i cant let them out.

    yes, aren’t Brahmas beautiful? especially as the little chics grow and feathers appear. i’m still at a loss on what thrue pedigree colors are. every one of mine is different.

    New member. 10yr keeping variety of chickens. Brahmas now. previously Blue Orpingtons and Light Sussex. They have secure coop, large double run space with trees in mornings then free range afternoons. still have lots to learn on how to effectively house, feed, manage, breed and medicate them...

    our Brahmas are fed layer pellets and some “wild bird seed” which they pick out first. In afternoons they free range over a large area. and eat many many bugs as well as lots of green grass. no soft eggs. I dont see how I can increase protein more.
