thanks so far the Hens i do have that are laying are doing pretty good without grit or oyster shells. i just been feedn the layer feed.

when i got these four hens i was told i didnt need to get that shell stuff cause since i had some tiny cravel or pebbles in the coop area . the hens will eat the pebbles of rock and that will harden the egg shells. is this true?

i just recieved four adult chickens last night. ok this morning when i went into the coop and let them into the play yard i seen that one of the hens did lay an egg but she stepped on it and broke it. should i be worried? did she do that so i couldnt get it or was it an accident?

she dont have a beard but her cheaks are longer hair than rest. If she is an EE too im thrilled. i have a white plymouth rock and she didnt have the same cheaks as this chick so im hoping for her to be a EE too.
