tbh I don't really know the hatching date, this egg was the lone survivor of a nest that was made by a mother duck (who had begun to lay eggs circa December 14) in my backyard that got raided by predators at night. I put this egg in my incubator around the week of January 18th. The main problem...
Hey y'all. One week ago, I found what appears to be a muscovy duck egg in my backyard, so we tried incubating it with an incubator I had. However, a week in and I fear it may be a quitter.
I just want to know, is this indeed the dreaded "blood ring of death" that means it's not going to...
I only had one egg. I just found it by a park where a bunch of Pekin Ducks live and we got an incubator for it.
We do, however, also have this month old muscovy duckling we rescued some weeks ago, so it's not going to be totally alone (though we're gonna keep them seperate for a bit, just to...
(made a thread about this in the other forum, but it didn't get any attention...)
So this little pekin duckling just hatched yesterday, roughly around 9:30 am. I just took this video of it a few minutes ago. I was wondering if it's okay to go put it in the brooder we have set up, which has...
Title says it all.
Just a few things, I live in South Florida, the room temperature is at 74, and this little one hatched out of its egg at roughly 9:30 this morning. So I'd like to know how much longer I have to keep it in there before putting it in a headed brooder.
Well we basically plan on keeping it until it's big enough to go out on its own.
For the record, I live out on a lake house where we've been frequently feeding the wild muscovy ducks that live out there corn and pellets. They come up into my backyard and everything. So we're hoping that once...
Hey all.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I've been taking care of this one abandoned muscovy duckling for the past month. We know it's basically about a month old at this point, considering we saw it hatch with its other siblings (their mother literally put her nest at the side of our...
I just checked the incubator and yeah, there's now a pip on the egg shell, so it's definitely coming out now. I lowered the temperature down from 37.5 c to 36.5 c, is that correct?
