    Here they are now hen was a speckled Sussex and rooster of the single combs was a Bresse, the rooster of the rose comb was a silver laced Wyandotte.

    Thanks for this thread, I've got a young roo with the same problem. He's destined for freezer camp in the end, but I don't want him to be miserable before he gets there.

    Yay! I've only got a Barbezieux roo, so I put him over some Bresse hens. Those chicks are heavy! They're about 4 weeks old now. Keep us posted on your eggs. Do you know how tall the roo was? I wondered if there was a size difference between American stock and stock closer to home

    Sebright chicks dying

    I use a large Rubbermaid storage container. Maybe two foot tall? Then I have a section of wire shelving over the top to clamp the lamp to. You can fit 10-12 newly hatched chicks for a day or two. Then I switch to a washer/dryer box.
