    Many people keep bachelor coops for their roos, and it seems to work fine as long as there are no girls involved!

    If you were told they were polish bantam frizzles, it is likely that they are mixes of polishes and bantam frizzles. While polishes do not have feathered legs, frizzled cochins do, which would explain their legs. They have awfully large combs and wattles for 5 weeks old, I think they are all...

    Mystery chick!

    Here’s a 17~18 week update (i’ve lost track) but they have turned out to be a gorgeous hen who has (as of a few days ago) begun laying the cutest little green eggs!

    Thy should be fully feathered by now, and thus able to regulate their temperature without the help of a heat lamp

    Our flock of pullets currently range from 12-15 weeks, now I KNOW it is a horrible idea to switch them over to layer feed, as so much excess calcium can damage internal organs, and the lack of protein can inhibit growth.
