    Do I remove unhatched eggs from under broody with chicks?

    I would wait a day or two before removing them. I had other chickens that would jump in with the broody and lay an egg than leave, so you end up having some eggs that aren't 21 days old yet. It happened to me.

    Definately want a roosting area on the inside. They like to be inside at nite and up high!

    Do chickens need a perch inside their nest box?

    Where my perches are located I fenced around underneath it so they can't get all through it. It's on hinges and I just lift it up and clean it out and put it on the compost pile.

    Try hanging a cabbage for them to peck at. It sounds like they're bored. My chickens love it.

    How much does it weigh? I weighed one at the post office today that was 3.9 oz. but yours looks bigger.

    I was wondering what an average egg weighed. I just went to the post office and they weighed one for me that was 3.9 oz. It's been cold here in Milo, ME. It was 28 below here last Friday nite. Thanks
