Tractor Supply Chicks Not Being Taken Care Of

Sometimes TSC is out of the brand of feed I use. Chewy sells and ships pretty much everything TSC does so I get it there, delivered to my door next day. Prices aren't as good, but it's an option.

    Breed/gender unknown?!

EE is a catchall term for mutts that lay colored eggs. If they lay colored eggs and aren't clearly a certain breed they're EE as far as I understand it.

Black Sumatra Hen and Roo Breeding Pair FL Panhandle

I have a one year old (4/1/2020 hatch date) breeding pair of black Sumatra from Cackle hatchery that were included as part of my order. Roo is very polite, never shown the slightest hint of aggression, and loves to crow so be aware he is very noisy. His hen is already laying small-med creamy...

Family dog and Free Range Chickens

Teach the wait command. Set aside an hour or two, put the dog on a leash, and open the coop. The instant the dog goes to move, close the door. Rinse repeat until the dog stops moving to enter the coop and instead looks at you when the door is open for at least a second. Praise and treat. Keep...

    "Before the coop arrives"

The chickens will eat it if it's there, or scratch it up. I'd make sure the weeds and plants are nontoxic to chickens and if so I'd yoink em up in coop and run areas. Otherwise, they'll take care of it and the grass and such will provide a space for bugs to live and grow giving them forage.

Adult rooster exhibits wry neck when startled

I ran the whole wry neck episode by the vet out of an abundance of caution and they agreed with your assessment that it sounded like a defense reflex.

Adult rooster exhibits wry neck when startled

He is pinkish between the toes! Noted that when I removed him, thinking it might be an early sign of bumblefoot as his legs and feet are slate

Adult rooster exhibits wry neck when startled

Like the title says... I walked into the coop to turn bedding and add more sweet pdz to freshen everything up. The rooster in question was startled by the rake I was carrying and flopped onto his belly with his head bent all the way back. He was watching me the whole time. When I leaned down...

23 gauge 1/4" HC VS Dog

No chickens were in the coop when she busted through as I'm still building it. Luckily, she decided to teach me after I had hung the first sheet of wire, too! No animals were injured in the making of this post :)
