The feed that I’m giving them is specific to ducks/waterfowl, so it already has sufficient niacin in it 👍 Thanks for the reminder though! Definitely important for growth, I know!
Okay. I’ll try the sock thing. Their diet is a blend of 5 scoops of 14% feed and one scoop of 20% feed to equal about 15% total protein in their feed. I also have been giving them oats and a supplement probiotic.
Will keep ya’ll posted on the wing wrapping in the next week 👍
my six week old Call duckling Augustus seems to have a couple of small feathers that are coming in that are sticking out from his body. It’s not super noticeable, but I tried to get good pictures. Do you think this is the start of Angel wing? If so, what would be the best thing to do for it...
Hey ya’ll! I got some ducklings from Metzer farms, and they turned 5 weeks old today.
One is a white call duck, one is a pastel call duck, and one is a pencilled call duck.
Their vocal range has been growing over the past weeks, and my suspicion is that the white and pastel ones are females...
Yeah I can understand that, but I'm worried about one of them getting hurt, you know? Especially with the one duck showing signs of lots of feathers being pulled from her neck. My parents are also disturbed by it:gig
Yeah it is mostly those two that I mentioned. Just nature's best Organic layer crumbles from TSC, scratch grains from TSC, and mealworms once in a while. Oh and the usual kitchen scraps- Spinach, lettuce, bananas, ect.
Good question. It's actually a couple of them usually top the others. One of the Hybrids, and the cayuga usually top, but them sometimes it's the other ones. The other hybrid has that little strip on her neck where you can see feathers have been pulled, so obviously she gets mounted more often...
Hey everyone! I know it's been a very long time, but my 5 ducks are doing very well and healthy, and I'm getting 4 or 5 eggs everyday! I have 1 Cayuga, 1 Rouen, 2 Golden 300s, and 1 Khaki Cambell. They're all a delight to have around the yard most of the time, except when they start mounting...
So I followed those steps, and it went back in on the first try. Then a minute later, I picked her up and it was out again. I repeated and picked her up a minute later and it was still in. Is that all I can do now? Is there anything else?
@casportpony @Miss Lydia @WannaBeHillBilly What should I do about this? Will she be alright overnight? It will get dark soon... She's acting fine and hanging out with the other ones now, but should I do anything about that red thing? Please help, Thanks!
