    8 week old Pekins, males??

Oh they will be separated for sure. The chicken coop is around on the other side of the house. They’ve just been raised together since we picked them up, it was easier to have just one brooder.

I read that one before I posted haha! After viewing their video, my guess was female for their duck. It’s making a sound I do not hear from mine. BUT it’s a lot older, so there’s time mine may get that “quack” I guess.

These 2 are few days past 8 weeks old. These are the only sounds we've ever heard from them. We've never heard anything sounding like a loud quack. Our first ducks so the best guess is they're both boys. Let me know what you think.

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right place or not. I’m in Jacksonville, I live in a residential zoned neighborhood. Are ducks (specifically Pekin) allowed? I have read what feels like the entire city ordinance and can not find my answer. I am permitted and own chickens, but need to know...

    No eggs, help!

The shorter days definitely affects egg production. My problem is I have 5 and only one ever started laying! Possibly a second started laying, but the rest never have.

Not molting! One of them (not the one I know for sure was laying consistently) will do some funky little dance when I go to pet her and then squat down, but that is all that's happening.:/

    No eggs, help!

UPDATE Still no eggs! We added lights to the coop and run to make sure they are getting 14+ hours of light every day. We started free ranging them, which they seem to thoroughly enjoy. I am absolutely certain they aren't laying eggs while free ranging. A week after adding the lights the one...

I've considered this too and plan to add a light this weekend. I expected them to start laying almost 10 weeks ago! :/

Oh wow, well I had no idea. I thought it was a good thing they slept in them. Haha ok, I'll fix it and try the fake eggs too. Thanks!

    No eggs, help!

I can't get pics of the inside right now, it's storming outside, but I can later. There are 3 boxes each with pine shavings for a comfy spot. They sleep in the boxes at night and the one girl that was laying always uses the same box. I haven't put any decoy eggs in yet.

    No eggs, help!

I have 5 hens, the reds are 29 weeks, barreds are 30 weeks and we aren't sure of the black hen, she was given to us. She was already laying when we received her a month ago and since has been very consistent. 2 days on 1 day off. Until this weekend. She hasn't laid in four days. None of the...
