I understand that blue x blue = black, blue and splash
But I am having trouble with the concept of breeding that into splash.
From what I understand on paints, please correct me if I am wrong, a paint roo (white w black) x chocolate hen= potential choc paint offspring
Same goes for blue or red...
I was really hoping you would be one to reply @The Moonshiner
I have learned a bunch from your comments!
I am in no way a genetics expert and am humbled by it all lol
When I posted my question, I was typing fast and meant to say I understand the black x splash or blue x splash part. And I do...
Ok I have confused myself a bit with the breeding for chocolate splash. If someone could please breakdown how to make an F1 hen or roo for a chocolate splash it would be a gift!
I do understand BBS genetics but when it comes to the chocolate, I get lost.
I do understand that roosters need 2 choc...
I lost the original babies, we were gone and did not know the power went out and the brooder light was off. They ended up getting squished with a few others trying to stay warm.
I did hatch out another batch and had several silver in there a few weeks ago. So far they are still light with...
We hatched these little silkie beauties yesterday from a purebred pen of only white, black and traditional partridge silkies, roosters are only white.
Could these be silver partridge chicks? They almost remind me of emu chicks with coloration.
I was not expecting this but so excited to see what...
Do you still breed and sell the Crele Polish? I have actually been looking for them for several years and came upon this thread.
I would love to get hatching eggs from you. If you see this, my email is

Thank you in advance!
If your flock is like mine, they are still laying and I am hatching but I would be interrested in getting eggs from you! Please let me know!
Just gorgeous!
They are bigger than a silkie chick, at least twice the size. Big poofballs, but they are purebred white silkie roo x purebred speckled sussex hen. And they are the only brown eggs let alone silkie chicks in the incubator.
They will definitely be a bigger bird than silkie but hoping they will...
I figured it out on the pics lol
First one of darker markings looks just like a Sussex chick. I have 2 chicks that look like the first pic.
The second photo the chick has some but not enough of the markings. I will be interrested what all 3 grow into!
And thank you! They are little beauties!
I know this is an older thread, but I had just hatched out 3 chicks that are from a white silkie roo over a speckled sussex hen. I have more eggs in the incubator from them as I hatch weekly.
She was getting picked on so i set her in a pen to recover and about 2 months later I decided she needed...
