    Gold laced wyandottes: roosters

Edit: thanks for the answers, I had a feeling it would be. That would be my luck. Buy only 2 to add to my 13 and 1 would be male. So, would I be right in assuming that 2 roosters for 15 hens will end badly? Or should I wait for a first sign of aggression before getting rid of him? Because he...

    Novogen Browns gone BROODY?!

Yes, they've been laying since September. All 12 of the hens lay by 4 pm daily. I'll keep an eye on them throughout the next few days. If I have enough eggs in the next day or 2 (family and friends been taking excess eggs) I'll leave a few in the nest boxes and see what happens

    Novogen Browns gone BROODY?!

They are just over a year old. They fluffed their feathers when I went out to collect, and then got the fake egg back under them after I got the real eggs. One of them even managed to get the fake egg from another nest box

Chicken caught in fencing, left with bad injury

Hi all, it's with a sad heart that I even need to make this post. I have a 7 month old sliver laced wyandotte. Sometime this evening she caught her neck in some fencing, or that's what I'm assuming happened It ripped all of her feathers, and skin from the top of her wings, to her wattle. I can...

Only 60% of my flock is laying

Novogens are a red sex link chicken. A cross between a rhode island red and a white leghorn. They and the Isa Browns are roughly 6 months old.

Only 60% of my flock is laying

Hello all, I'm new to raising chickens, so I'm still learning as I'm going. I have 10 chickens total. I've got 6 Novogens, 3 Isa Browns, and 1 Sliver Laced Wyndatte. I'm do not know which 6 are laying, but I'm pretty sure it is the novogens. The wyndatte is roughly 2-4 weeks younger than the...
