Hen sitting only during the day

I have a white cochin who's been laying for short while, lately shes been sitting on the nest for very long periods of time only during the day, at night shes roosting with the other chickens. Is she going broody? I collect the eggs and only leave one in the box and shes sitting on the one egg.

Saddled/deformed aircell in a 12 day old goose egg that is being incubated. A deformity that was most likely caused during rough shipping conditions.
