    Broody chicken or scared chicken???

Hmmm, she did eventually move the dummy egg underneath her, and she's completely puffed up. When we get her out she's puffed up too. Is that normal with a broody hen? Sorry for all the questions, I've never had a broody hen before. My Easter egger is relentlessly attacking her though, so I'm...

    Broody chicken or scared chicken???

Hey everyone! I'm still pretty new to the chicken game, so I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my chickens. We have a silkie that just began laying eggs a few months ago. Now all of the sudden she won't leave her nesting box. She's not really mean when we take her out, but she hates it...

Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I posted in a different thread, but I will try on here as well. We just got a silkie, and I'm new to this whole chicken thing, but I've heard they're difficult to sex. It's beginning to get a bit of a red comb, and it's 5-6 weeks old. We can't have roosters in our area, although I don't know why...

can someone tell if my silkie she is a he??? I'm brand new to chickens!

We just started with chickens, and my daughter really wanted a silkie, so we got her one. It's only 5-6 weeks old, and I know it's difficult to tell, but it's beginning to get a bit of a red comb, so I'm wondering if this is normal for silkies, or if it's most likely a rooster. Anyone have any...
