    Silkie thread!

This is my boy. He was sold to me as a splash but the black only appears to be on his wings, tail(can’t be seen in the pictures) and neck. He’s young and the black is growing in more around his neck but I was planning on breeding him into my B/B/S pen. Is he going to create full splashes or...

    New baby silkies. What colours?

hello I just had 2 out of my 6 silkie eggs hatch. The hen is blue and the roosters are blue and blue cuckoo. Now that the babies have started to hatch I have the question of what colour will they be. My first chick has the “chipmunk” pattern which I usually read is partridge only I don’t have...

    Hen or roo

It’s a disappointment but luckily there are lots of little silkie chicks hatching out. He will just join my silkie cross rooster and be free range.

    Hen or roo

We will be looking to get something back. But we aren’t too worried he was only I think 40-50. I don’t think we’d know where to look for the breeder anyway. Was at a sale.

    Hen or roo

    Silkie chicks feathering in smooth?

Thanks... I’ve been trying to get a black silkie. So all of them will probably feather out smooth?

    Silkie chicks feathering in smooth?

So I received my chicks yesterday from a breeder. I’m confused with how some are feathering out, some have the typical fuzzy tips but some have smoother feathers growing in on the wings. I’m confused did I receive some satin silkies? I’m rather new to silkies and I was hoping these aren’t...

    Cuckoo silkie

Yes it’s a silkie it has the 5 toes and black feet and crest. It is much to young to look for a comb as it is only days old. I was told that the sex could be told by the spot. That’s all I’m looking for:)

    Silkie thread!

So does that mean that the sex can’t be identified yet?
