    Loud egg laying?

Oh my goodness yes. Trying to find other writing about the strange sounds of the Speckled Sussex. A dinosaur being strangled 🤣 perfect 👍 I have 11 hens of different breeds and one SS she is the only one that’s so loud. She sounds like she has Laryngitis or a sickness of some kind, or like a...

    Integration and flock groups

Also, I’ve heard to wait till they are laying to fully integrate. I might have a a bully. Not sure yet. They seem ok when I watch them but I protect the littles not sure what happens if I let them all integrate and I’m not there to intervene. I’m at work most of the day.

    Integration and flock groups

So the littles space is in the coop with the big girls but they are divided with a wall of chicken wire. The littles have been let into the main coop multiple times and from there have gone into the run. They mingle a little with the big girls but for the most part stick with their brooder mates...

    Integration and flock groups

Ok so I basically have two flocks. 6 two year olds and 5 sixteen week olds. They are divided most of the time by chicken wire, but sometimes I let them all outside together. Trying to integrate slowly as the littles aren’t laying yet and are still smaller. I notice that for the most part when...

    Scoliosis in chickens?

Thank you so much I’ll look into those. It’s not super noticeable from photos and it’s not even noticeable by the eye but I can feel a twist in her neck and she sometimes looks more like the second photo.

Sorry haven’t had time to take photos. Maybe tonight. I added poultry cell to their water last night which is loaded with lots of different vitamins, because I had it on hand. Any other product recommendations for wry neck?

    Scoliosis in chickens?

Ok so I didn’t really research wry neck before posting this. I didn’t realize wry neck was like scoliosis. Anyway I haven’t noticed it till this last week. Could that be what’s going on? I’m scared it is. Why is it always the sweetest ones with the issues? Not exactly sure how to treat it. I’ll...

    Scoliosis in chickens?

I have a 12 week old Ameraucana/Easter Egger who I believe has developed something like scoliosis in her neck possibly her back as well. It’s just crooked and her wing hangs down a little. Anyway, she is the absolute sweetest thing I’ve ever incountered. She always wants to be held and basically...

I’ve also heard that RIR’s are really only bully’s to other breeds…so good job only gets RIR’s. That was a smart move.
