    I don't have an answer but I agree about the ick factor! I went out to feed our 4 month old pullets and found them playing football with the carcass of a baby wren I was very watchful over them for a few days but they all appear fine still, several weeks later.

    I believe deworming only applies to small parasitic worms that live in the intestines, not to large ground worms such as earth and mealworms- which are a good source of protein and entertaining treat for the chickies.
