I have had my flock for about 8 years now, birds have come and gone. I have loved having backyard chickens since I was an early teenager and my mom brought home our first 3 chicks one easter morning. That's how my flock started. 8 years ago I bought 6 chicks for my kids for Easter. I was living with my mom while I house hunted and got her hooked on having a flock. When I moved a year later into my first house and took my birds with, she went out and bought her own birds. Now my daughter is in her first year of 4H and will be showing bantams and ducks at this year's fair. We are excited to have the new additions (9 chickens and 2 khaki ducks)!
