    Feather Cluster?

Hello, I hope this is ok to post here, but with our chickens we have a couple of juvenile turkeys. One turkey, I've noticed, has this small feathery lump on his neck. Does anyone know what this is and if I should be concerned?

    Possible Mareks?

First guy is still alive and eating/drinking well when i move him to the bowls, but has no use of either leg it seems. He's been on water with vitamins for a few days now. Another roo from the same flock just started a slight limp today so he was separated as well. I will never buy a chicken...

    Possible Mareks?

Update and question. He's still alive and while he isn't using his left leg, his wings and neck remain in good condition. He appears to recoil a bit as I touch along his left leg as I approach his hock joint. He's eating and drinking well and his poop looks less green/yellow than before. How...

    Possible Mareks?

We had a coop that was used by the deceased chickens as well as our still surviving chicken (different breeder) before I fished it but was never inhabited by the chicks. That being said, they certainly could have been exposed to something if it was in my coop. :( I guess I'll keep my fingers...

    Possible Mareks?

After losing three of four chickens last August who suddenly became paralyzed on one side and died within weeks of each other, we were devastated and put off getting more chickens. We ended up moving somewhere with more space for chickens and two months ago, we started our flock again and now...

    Injured Back

City backyard chicken About 1 year old Had her since last may(ish) We noticed Nuggets hadn't been laying the past week or so which was unusual for her (though she's <1 year old); she was acting lethargic and not moving from her coop so I got worried, checked her crop, her feet, etc. I made sure...

    Chickens dying overnight month apart

Are necropsies usually expensive? I talked to a vet yesterday and they wanted $300. I'm on a pretty limited budget and that's the cost of 10 new chickens. Obviously if they get introduced to something nasty, it would just kill them too... I'm not trying to sound cheap here, but I'm going to...

She's dead already. She left chaulky yellow poo on the towel I gave her. That was so fast...

    Chickens dying overnight month apart

One more just got sick as of tonight. She ate great yesterday, had a nice full crop last night, and was walking around this morning. I found her about an hour ago on her side, feathers puffed up in a corner, she won't run away like usual, with eyes closing. Her crop is empty and slightly...

    Chickens dying overnight month apart

We had 4 chickens we let free range in our back yard. About a month ago, I was putting our young hens (<6 months) into their coop when i noticed that our largest hen was very lethargic out of nowhere. Not thinking anything of it as she seemed fine that same morning, i put her on her roost and...
