What is this black and white Bantam and is ths a frizzle chick?

Here are some pictures of the possible frizzle (I believe they said she is an Americauna). Sorry about the lame pictures before, I am still trying to learn about how to evaluate chickens and thought an above view of an outstretched wing would be best.

Thank you! Whatever it is, I think it's really pretty. I am hoping it's a rooster.

Here are better pics of the black and white. Will take some of the possible frizzle soon!

What is this black and white Bantam and is ths a frizzle chick?

Hello everyone, couldn't help but pick up a few more birds today (it's becoming a real addiction, haha. Luckily lots of space.) and am wondering what this black and white Bantam is or is a mix of. I am thinking possibly Hamburg? I am hoping the little brown one is a frizzle. The lady infront...

A few pictures of some of my birds

I held one of my ducklings today and was surprised to see how well it settled down! I'm going to try to hold them at least a few times a day and hope it settles them :) Congrats on your new babies!

A few pictures of some of my birds

I might have to try that! making them chill out on my lap and feed them some good treats (they're really into mealworms, romaine lettuce and of course cilantro) and hope the flooding style exposure breaks their hatred for being touched, lol! I would love for them to even tolerate handling. If...

    Air Gun for Dispatching Raccoons?

I am new to chickens but not new to coon problems. Set out a few dog proof coon traps (the kind that grips the hand) and put some canned sardine or a mini marshmallow inside. Take a well placed swing with a pipe or snare it around the neck and suffocate it. If there are no dogs or cats on the...

A few pictures of some of my birds

Aww, Ace and Gary are adorable! I wish my two would let me hold them. They peep bloody murder if I touch them, haha. My barred rocks are quite nice and will come up to have their chests and chins rubbed. I hope my sex links come around!

A few pictures of some of my birds

^ My precious ducklings, Quackerz and Cilantro (aptly named for his/her love of fresh cilantro, haha) ^ My GSD, Brutus, is quite sweet with the chicks. He has a particular interest in the little black bantam. They love to explore! Excuse the messy set up, we aren't quite done with the...

    RIP little chicks!

JaeG, thank you for the condolences. I know most people I interact with day to day would think I am being ridiculous for mourning chickens- but they are sweet and silly and so innocent. I'm really glad to be a part of a forum who understands. I certainly don't blame the hawk, especially now...

    RIP little chicks!

PD-Riverman, I think we will make that the next big project. Neither my German Shepherd or my collie mix are prone to wandering, but it makes me nervous that they could get on the road if they wanted to. This combined with today's events settles that for me. They hate hawks, buzzards, and really...

    RIP little chicks!

Thanks, PD-Riverman. We live on a very quiet dead end road but do not have a full fence or I'd leave my dogs out in the daytime. It might be worth investing in a gate and fence repair as I have been wanting to do it anyway. I had put a 4' tall metal skeleton with large painted eyes in the pen...

A tough little bird who survived a mystery

I feel just awful. All that luck and desire to survive and a hawk got her today :( I feel like the worst chicken owner ever. I am trying hard to do right by them and am trying to learn all I can here to make fewer errors that put them in danger.

    RIP little chicks!

Lost two of my smallest chicks today including my very favorite little Dutch bantam, which had previously gotten quite lucky. I am sick about it! I caught a glimpse of it leaving and under the tree it was perched in, bloody feathers, bird feces (presumably from the hawk) and some intestine. My...

Topic of the week - Dustbathing

Thank you, I think I will be passing on it too. I can definitely give them wood ash though. The neighbor's llama is always rolling in their ash pit so I assume it's doing something for him and might help the chickens out too.
