    Rooster killed hen?!?

    I had a rooster that made it his business to kill as many hens as he could. The last straw was when I saw him run to a hen and when she squatted he stood squarely on her back and grabbed her head shaking it violently. She would have been his third victim.

    You probably don't have this rooster anymore but I just throw dog toys at mine and he behaves for a few weeks. I like him because he is a great protector of the chickens and honestly, I think it's funny that he thinks he can take me. But, hey that's just my personality.

    Not game fowl but have ordered chickens from them. Buff O's and Easter Egg Chicks. Very healthy, delivered all live birds with a couple extra chicks included. I was very pleased with Cackle Hatchery.

    There is not usually a good outcome with distemper. It is expensive to treat with no promise of recovery. The disease can stay in the soil for several years so all dogs should be vaccinated.
