There were no separate albumen or yolks coming out other than what was wrapped around the egg that came out before the membrane that I witnessed or saw evidence of. She is doing very well, completely back to herself. The antibiotics have on hand is neochlor. Broad spectrum. There is no...
My biggest concern was whether or not to pull it out or let her pass it on her own and I waited as long as I was possibly comfortable with before pulling it out. I may have saved her. Time will tell but I'm sure she has a better chance now. Pepper is my favorite most sweet girl in the entire flock 🙏
Thanks, I think there is probably some more inside although when she pushed the previous egg out it had membrane and yolks on it all wrapped around the shell it was really mucky. I hope she will pass whatever may be left. As soon as I brought her into the house the other day I started her on...
I will keep working on it. I am using castor oil. I have a syringe that I squirted a bit right up along side the blockage. She seems to be making the odd noise when she pushes but other than that she is still approaching me at the cage and taking bites of food

I think I may be taking it a little far... my garage is officially a chicken coop for the entire winter with my new flock of SLW's lol. Can't say I wont do it again!
I know that in the UK egg standards are really different than us in the US or Canada. Because of reading up on how the UK stores eggs, I will leave them out on the counter to consume for up to two weeks in a basket, provided they are not soiled looking. My hens started laying recently but I do...
I have two silkies, the one being my broody hen and she will hatch anything. They haven't yet succeeded in hatching their own chicks, and they are in a coop all to themselves. No other birds of any kind, just the current batch of quail eggs under her. He doesn't like being away from her and he...
