You can do whichever you like. I stop the vitamins and electrolytes at 7 weeks and start the ACV then. It wouldn't be harmful to continue with the V&E.
It takes about 16-20 lbs of feed to raise them to 5 months (depends on jumbo or normal, male or female, winter or summer) then about 12 lbs a month to sustain them. You can figure out your feed costs for however many you intend to raise. Make it easy and say 2 bags of feed per bird the first...
Actually being a smart aleck and playing the victim roll is unbecoming. I did in fact give you advice for alternative feed procurement. I was not debating whatsoever.
I've had 2 1" wire pens ( a quail pen and chicken tractor) and 2 1" wire flight pens for 20 years or so. They were the heavier gauge if that matters at all. Here are the few problems I have had. A copperhead went into one which I was using for a brooder with paneling loosely tacked in it to keep...
It's perfectly safe to handle gluten based items. The only way to irritate the body is to ingest them. Also animals can't pass along gluten they've ingested in their flesh so you're safe there as well. Here's a short copy and paste. Have a wonderful day.
Celiac disease is an autoimmune...
I didn't know it was required for me to teach you the law or processes in fallowing the law on the matter. Then for you to speculate on how that particular process works, when you incorrectly said it was illegal just previous to that. And further add speculation to your particular state based...
I have ducks, game birds, chickens and rabbits on 1/2 hardware cloth. Most have never touched the ground in their life. No feet issues.
Hope you guys can adjust to the climate, at least it's not winter right?
Good luck.
Salt free is the way to go, doesn't matter which one you choose. For the chlorine, no worries. Just let it sit with the top open in the sun for 4 hours and it will evaporate out. Or let it sit in a bucket or watering can in the sun then fill up the waterers.
Have a good day.
Sprinkle a little lime on it, just a dusting. http://www.homedepot.com/p/TXI-50-lb-Hydrated-Lime-5195/202080968 There are two forms, pelletized and the non marked is powder. You want the powder form of it. Of course shovel and remove when it gets deep enough.
Have a good day.
Grass actually helps since it has moisture in it. On chicken tractors I like to just use the nail on insulators and attach the wire to the tractor. For the corners just use a piece of tubing about an inch long to rest on the edges of the pen. The wire runs through it so the fence doesn't short...
Another aspect is the "mean", flighty, chicken aggressive type breeds aren't the ones that will flog you. It's the "sweetest" silkies, easter eggers, orpingtons and so on that have the most posts here. If the chicks are off of that old rooster then you may have trouble. Aggression is hereditary...
I've never had worms in any poultry (been raising for decades). I put 1 tbs of apple cider vinegar to a gallon of water and that is the only water they ever have to drink. There's no taste transferred to the eggs. It creates an acidic environment inside the chicken that's not conducive for...
Generally with the better temp control one with a fan has you get higher hatch rates with them. I'd switch the turner and eggs to the one with the fan. And use the still air one for hatching. If they stay wet a little longer no big deal. They can really go for the first 3 days without food or...
That's actually very good for a LG. One tip that may help; put a box or something between any window and the incubator to shade it from sunlight.
Have a good day.
