Thoughts & advice on my coop ventilation?

Ooo okay I’ll do that! As for the windows they came with the treehouse but we may be able to add more in the future but will for sure do the triangle vents, I see what you’re saying. ❤️ I have a camera in their coop and I will see one or two showing that they’re a bit hot but they go back to...

Thoughts & advice on my coop ventilation?

First and foremost the coop is still a work in progress, it was actually an old treehouse! The official roosting bars still need to go in plus other things such as the nesting boxes but they aren’t laying yet, plus more but anyways As we all know it’s summer time and very hot. I am a new...

How to keep ground “clean” and safe + other advice for new chicken mama ❤️

Hi everyone, my chicken run is approximately 22-25ft long and 14 or so feet wide The ground is just the grass and dirt we built it on Are there others who just use the dirt and grass and will the poop just decompose? I know sand is an option but it isn’t for me right at this moment Is it...

    This isn’t coccidiosis right? 🙏

They are all acting normal which is why I am leaning more towards cecal. I was already out so i went tractor supply, they didn’t have corid in stock so I’ll have to order it I like to have all sorts of things on hand so I don’t mind getting it even if they don’t have something wrong Gonna...

    This isn’t coccidiosis right? 🙏

I do not, but they are on medicated feed The more I look at it the more I think I see it might just be brown, I showed my grandma and she said it looks normal to her None are acting off, I hope they’re okay I should get some to have on hand They are 9 and a half weeks old and have been out...

    This isn’t coccidiosis right? 🙏

I took two photos of the same stool, one is how I found it and the other is opening it a bit. I am hoping this is just pigmentation and it’s the only one I’ve found like this It’s about 8am and it looks somewhat fresh so it might just be a weird poop from waking up, I know those can look funky...

Is this bumblefoot or just a scab?

Is this normal? Heard it’s called smut?

Wasn’t exactly sure where to put this but I’ve seen this on another one of my buff orpington pullets but on that one’s tail feathers. The one pictured is on the wing. I think it’s what people refer to as smut but wanted another opinion(s)

Pecked at chick occasionally panting but eating and drinking

There are 9 of them and they have 6 x 3 x 2 feet of space and plenty of roosting options and a little room they can go in and jump on top of in their brooder as well as a couple mirrors. And I throw some cut up cucumber or clover from outside every couple of days. All of them are don't hurt each...

Pecked at chick occasionally panting but eating and drinking

This 4 and a half week old chick has been pecked at its new pin feathers several times and I have had to isolate her twice now. She was what seemed to be healed for the past several days but today I found her with blood on her tail feathers again. This time that I have separated her though...

What should I feed my hens when they’re laying?

At the moment I have them on this and it says to use it up to 15 weeks But as for layer feed, I’ve heard from some people that it isn’t the best since it’s low on protein and/or people have issues with the calcium? The brand I have their chick feed with “Horizon Acres” has an all flock feed...

What should I feed my hens when they’re laying?

Hi! My chickens are currently 3 weeks old but when they are to start transitioning off their medicated chick feed I would like to know some good brands of what to feed them. I’m really conflicted between either giving them a layer feed or swapping to an unmedicated chick feed or an all flock...
