If the birds ain't locked up at night I would use a better wire. I live in Ohio and I've had raccoon tear right through tht wire. but other than that great job.
I would put up a 2x4 frame then put chicken and chain link fence up to keep predators out. For digging I would burry rocks underground to keep animals from getting up under there.
Where is the nest in your yard? Is your house near it. Eagles normally don't attack unless they feel threatened so I would stay far away from the nest. What type of Eagle.
I had a Pekin drake breed with a Mallard and I left the wound alone and it healed fine after a couple of weeks it healed and feathers started growing back.
My Mallard just hatched 7 babies and we don't really want to keep them. People already eat wild Mallards so can we eat these ones? comment any advice
Thank You
Normally separating causes anxiety and such things in ducks
especially, but you could try to get the girl pregnant then the drake should calm down a tad.
I live in Ohio and in spring it gets really wet so I use pelletized bedding in the pen to soak up water I also use crushed food pellets to spread around in it works amazing a the chickens and ducks love it.
If you want to catch a fow I suggest using live traps with live bait bay to put a hen or something to put it the bay works great. Also you might want to consider snap traps.
