Well I can't tell you why your hens aren't laying, but I can tell you that I am having the same problem and that space isn't the reason. We have 9 hens that are 1 1/2 old in a 10X8 coop. They free range most days, but they're staying in the last few days because of snow on the ground. We've been...
Wow! I can't believe how similar ours were at the beginning and how different they are now. Mine are without a doubt Delawares. My hen does look similar to one of yours - a little less brown maybe.
The wing pattern on ours looks just like that! Ours are younger though (not as many feathers yet.) The only difference is that they have developed a black stripe across the beak. I can't tell if the beak will be striped or turn black entirely.

Yeah, definitely not a CR! I would settle on the Delaware for now if it wasn't for the bit of brown in "Mystery Chick" that I'm not seeing in the Delaware. Wonder if they have a variation? I hope it's a Delaware, they're beautiful!
Someone suggested Delawares or Columbia Rocks on mine.
Can't find a CR image - here's a Delaware. Maybe, but not sure.

Mine aren't Brahmas, no fuzzy feet.
We picked up some "Mystery Chicks" at Tractor Supply to keep the only turkey we were able to get to hatch some company so she'd quit calling us every time we left the brooder. Just wondering if anyone could help identify them for us. Not sure how old they are, we've had them for a week, and I'm...
We are very new chicken owners. We have 3 (was 4) Black Star hens - 5 months old, 7 Buff Orpington hens, and 1 Buff rooster - 4 months old.
The hen that died has been laying for over a month. She layed several normal eggs before she began laying ones without shells. She was just beginning to...
