Movement in 10 out of 12 shipped saxony duck eggs!

They are great! We did have one mishap last Thursday, I had to take my son to meet the teacher at school, and while I was gone my husband left the bathroom door open. When I got home and went to check my babies 3 were missing ;( I guess my dachshund was able to push under the wire at the bottom...

Thanks! I think I'll pass on the vent sexing...these babies are pure hobby, so there is no NEED to know right now . We ended up with 6 healthy (so far) ducklings! There are actually 8 little ducklings there in my lap...the 2 bigger ones were from a batch that hatched last weekend. They were my...

Of the 9 that made it to hatch time, I have 6 little ducklings! 3 of them didn't make it out of the shell alive ;( one...

    Saxony ducklings--can color tell gender?

I have hatched...well, technically, still hatching ;) some saxony ducklings from eggs purchased off eBay. I have 3 that are all cute and fluffy in the brooder. Of those 3, one is lighter in color with more grey. Could this be an indicator of gender?

Is this a herniated naval? Help please!

@AmyLynn2374 Should I keep him confined, wrapped up or unwrap him and let him move about?

Is this a herniated naval? Help please!

A lot of what appears to be the intestines has receeded. I kept him wrapped up and on his back with his butt elevated...hoping gravity may help a little...guess that's the neonatal ICU nurse instincts ;)

Is this a herniated naval? Help please!

Should I leave that little bit of shell, or try an wipe away the goop? It was a very sticky hatch.

Is this a herniated naval? Help please!

I have duckling that has hatched almost completely, but is still attached at the bottom of the shell. Some of my others had a hard time dropping the bottom of the shell, but we're only attached by thin cords that I was able to snip off. What can I do for this little guy? Tie it off? I have him...
