Do you have any problems with the combs freezing on your Welsummers? I love the breed but am a bit concerned about the temps up here. The Americaunas I have handle it well, but that pea comb is a bit better for heat retention I'm sure.
I'm looking for a good light timer that has a switch override and also a photocell to turn the light off during daylight hours.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for the tips. I think I'll start with three and see if the ladies get too beat up and cull from there if I have to. I may have to wait another couple of months and see if any get too feisty.
This spring I got a straight run of 25 birds, some Buff Orpingtons and some Silver Laced Wyandottes. Slowly it is getting to that time - need to weed out a few of those excess roosters.
