Would you mind detailing your incubation process? Just hatched out my first batch of chicks, and that was easy enough, but info I’m finding online about goose incubation seems quite different. We have Brown Chinese.
I appreciate it!
I’d have to say probably raspier. I was thinking that the ones tail seemed like it “flipped up” more-and might be headed toward developing a drake feather. While the other’s tail is straighter. ? Maybe?
These Pekins are about 16 weeks old-is that old enough to start accurately guessing their genders? I can’t really tell by their voices. Here is a pic, for any of you experts to help me guess!
These two are 8weeks now: tried to get side, tail and head shots.
Also, any guesses on their breed mix? Most EE type that I see are darker shades than mine.
Thanks!
Unfortunately she didn’t make it...my kids just finished a burial with tombstone. Sweet, but sad.
The other six look bouncy and bright, so hopefully an isolated problem.
Thanks for your advice!
One of these Black cochins (I have two each of four different breeds), did have a little booty matting the first day that we attempted to clear, but I will check that again.
Thanks!
I’ve had my (first batch ever) of tiny chicks for three days now. One (a Black Cochin), is smaller than the others and has a very “bumbling” kind of walk. It hunches down instead of standing fully like the others and will just peep continuously. It doesn’t seem to be eating and drinking like...
These Olive Eggers are 7.5 weeks. I’m feeling like their gender specific details should be getting clearer? Maybe?
The one with the darker head is a little smaller and “rounder” than the other. It also has less distinct of a tail, while the larger one has a fairly developed “keel” shaped tail.
