    for eating eggs you do the float test to see if the egg is good to eat. if it floats its bad... BUT my incubator went on the fritz and the thermometer went up to 114... eggs less than 10 days sunk while the rest floated, one floated high, another cracked, and the last stunk bad and was leaking...

I had an economy bird bath De-Icer taped to the bottom of a tile in my chicken coop (plugged in with the water placed on the tile to keep from freezing) and a Lower hot water...

    thermostat went out, max temp 114 min temp 73

    not sure how long it stayed at temp... is there hope? went to bed last night and everything was fine. got up to see the incubator under 80 this morning i have an outdoor thermometer in the incubator and above are the high and low temps... i have 4 healthr chicks and one that is doing better...

    Chicks/ducklings with intestines out?

    it seam like i get this problem wne the chick tries to hatch for more than 24 hr's... I need help here, have a baby that is bleeding, all i can think to do is to keep it warm, any suggestions? i do need to keep a closer eye on my hunidity, this yr i have had 5 babies crack the shell and 3 live...

    i primarily feed my chickens scratch, i have the laying mesh but it comes in pellets and gets tossed off the side, so i keep it accessible but in smaller quantities and also grind up my shells so the chickens don't recognize it and will mix the egg shells into the chicken scratch... then i look...
