I’m searching my phone now. I have videos that I can’t upload so I’m going to try to find a decent frame I can screenshot.

Mules: Gender of 2 Muscovy x Khaki Campbell

I need help establishing what gender these two crossbred ducks are. Mama is a Muscovy and Dad is a Khaki Campbell. They are black, with white on their chests, white spot under wings, and brown body feathers in the sunlight. They have Orange tips on their feet. They’re bigger than their dad...

Is this a leghorn? Pullet or Roo?

That’s what I was thinking too. Here’s a picture I found of the other. It’s not the best angle but I feel like there’s a distinct difference in the tail feathers. Same age.

I see what you’re talking about. That’s exactly why I’m conflicted. But I do have to say, that some of my mature hens have slightly curvy feathers back there. I guess time will tell l. 😋

Could it be an Easter Egger?

Is this a leghorn? Pullet or Roo?

I hatched a bunch of eggs that were all sorts of colors from a local market. I now have 2 large white birds that look like leghorns to me, but I am relatively new to chickens. This one is around 20 weeks old. I’m leaning towards pullet, but I keep flip flopping. I’d enjoy some other people’s...

Ugh, tough chicken! I didn’t know to let the meat rest.

Good point! I hadn’t thought of putting it in my instant pot! Thank you!

That’s so great! I met a guy at a market who said that some of his favorite meals where those that had canned (old) chicken. So, let me ask this silly question, do you actually cook it in the jar or am I misinterpreting that? I’m eager to know the best way to can chicken. Thank you!

Thank you so much! After reading the comments here I think I’m going to slow cook in a crockpot then can the meat for soups.

Thank you! I was hoping that someone would say that they can rest after thawing. These guys were about 6 month old Black Australorps. So I was expecting somewhat tougher meat, but not so much that it’s like anti-appetizing 😂 I think I might slow cook in a crockpot then can the meat for soups.
