    Foot leg injury and/or deformity.

The bandage is still on. She is still walking wonky, but all toes are on the ground now and she seems to be putting more weight on the bad leg. Thanks for the good wishes!

    Foot leg injury and/or deformity.

Thanks Weeg. I made her a slightly stiff, but soft cast from top of foot to bottom of knee. She can bend knee fine. I made it out of panty liner and bandage tape. She seems to be standing a bit more normally now. She hates her cast, but I'm leaving it on tonight and see how she is in the...

My Salmon Favorelle has probably had weird feet since she was a chick, but I didn't notice until recently when I started letting my young ones out of their little cage in the run and out to free range with the big girls. She limps and is currently in the house to keep her from being picked on...

I have a gold laced wyandotte chick that is a little over a month old now. It is started to grow wattles. Is this a breed where that could happen to a pullet that young, or do I need to change her name and start preparing for another roo?

    Speckled sussex pullet/cockerel

I have a seven week old Speckled Sussex, who is probably a cockerel, who has much larger comb and wattles than yours. Although I am pretty sure mine is a boy, I will keep hoping until the little one crows. It doesn't look like yours has any skinny feathers yet, so that is a good sign if you...

Seven weeks. I think I have two cockerels.

Thanks. I currently have them in a dog crate to separate them from my big girls. I guess I am going to have to get them a permanent set up. Not giving them away to be someone's dinner. : (

I would love to be wrong, but those wattles!! Hope I am uploading right pictures. I can barely see them on my phone.

Rueing seeing pink combs and wattles.

I suspected that was what I was going to hear. I guess I need to start looking for a home for them. Just sad knowing they both will probably end up in somebody's stew pot.

Rueing seeing pink combs and wattles.

So, at not even four weeks, my Blue Red Laced Wyandotte and Speckled Sussex have pink combs and emerging wattles. Luckily, my same age Welsummer has a yellow comb and no wattles. Anyway, I have two mature laying girls left after a dog got my RIR. One is a Barred Rock, the other is an Easter...

    Speckled Sussex and Welsummer chicks

That is why I am concerned. They both have pinkish legs. The one on left is more pink though.
