Thank you for this information I had no idea. I go out every morning and get 1 egg and the hens are out of the coop so I assumed they where not broding Patience is the key.
I want in too. I'm new in raising chicks -got 4 hens 1 rooster and last week my hens started laying eggs for the 1st time-I get 1-2 a day, but their not sitting on them. so we want to learn about hatching some ourselves.
Not sure I think 4 Ameraucana and 4 Australorps that is what they look like. A friend of my husbands from work gave them to us. So far everything is going ok. I took them out to their coop today for about 1/2 hr so they can get some fresh air. The temp at night may still be too cool for them...
Hello everyone, I'm excited to be a part of BYC. Today I got 8 biddies 10 days old and really excited about raising them. Never did this before so been reading as much as I can to be successful.
