Carrots Chicks
Hi there! We are Carrots Chicks! (Our last name means carrot in Polish - haha!) We have been thinking about getting chickens for awhile now... We decided to just go for it after our 5 year old daughter wanted to use her birthday money to buy chicks instead of toys. Our 8 year old son loves them too!
Sixteen darling chicks joined our family on May 21, 2017. We have 4 Plymouth Barred Rocks, 3 Golden Laced Wyandottes, 3 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Araucanas, and 3 New Hamphires. It has been an adventure! Each chick has been named after their own personalities and looks. Harrietta, Alex, Edna, Owlette, Leia, Auri, Cupcake, Sunny, Stevie, Poppy, Sidney, Alice, Marley, Rainbow, Scarlett, and Hazel.
We built the coop and run near our house... we miss them being inside the house with us so we can pet and hold them but we don't miss the mess!!!
We love being in the yard with them while they are exploring and eating new things. Our kids love holding them and petting their super soft feathers. It's cute when they "purr" and sleep in our arms.
We look forward to having lots of fun with our chickens!!!
