My chickens are free range and locked in coop at night and for three days after this attack. I understand that this is something that can happen especially way out in the country. This is why I have 24 eggs in incubator right now. Foxes are usually only a problem this time of year, hunting...
Went to town Saturday, between 2p and 5p, Border Collie was in house. When I got home, I found a pile of feathers in front, fenced in yard(more decorative than functional). Tracked feathers(w/7mm in hand) 100 yds down hill to stream where I found rooster alive. Sat by rooster for a while...
It's spring, foxes, coyotes, possums, coons are all having babies and are looking for extra food. They will keep coming back until all food is gone, usually around the same time. I will set traps and wait every day with a boom stick until I get em.
I have 2 hens that I brought to coop at the house and left the roosters at the barn. Now everyday the same 2 or 3 roosters travel the 1/2 mile from barn to the house in morning and then back to barn at night
Have a large rooster found this morning in barn that doesn't lift head. Picking at feed and water and seems aware and reacts to me. His crown is bloody, only injury that I noticed. Don't know if possum or raccoon did this last night. Could the other roosters have done this to him?
I need some ideas on different ways of losing roosters. Have 7 roosters, 3 hens from last years hatch, hens are starting to hate life this spring. Had roosters 3 high on 1 hen yesterday. Any way to tilt the odds towards hatching hens.

Had chickens already when we brought our BC home. She was infatuated from the beginning.
Now 4 years old, she will follow the flock around in the woods aaalllll day long sometimes till her tongue is dragging on the ground. I think she picks up little snacks left by the chickens. Any...
When my Border Collie was young she chased them and grabbed one, I let her know in no uncertain terms that that was not acceptable, no problems since. She will follow them, herd them, protect the hens from the roosters(which is funny as heck) and occasionally if the chicken is between where...
