The egg is on the outside but is stuck to what seems is a prolapse vent. I've done epsom salt baths and gently tried to release the egg but I don't want want make it worse. Its still stuck and I need help. Thank you I'm advance!
I usually have my brooder set up on my porch but I'm wondering if it's okay to still do that in the summer. Its completely shaded.. We are in the 80s at night and can get up to 105 during the day. I will still have a heat plate just incase they need the heat in the night. I'm mostly worried...
I've had 2 peacocks, I'm assuming a male and a female, hanging around my chicken coops all day. They seem really friendly and I gave them a little bit of chicken feed and meal worms. Are they a threat to my chickens or just hanging out? They are so beautiful, I'm hoping they keep coming around.
My first time hatching and I'm a bit obsessive if I'm doing this right lol Tomorrow will be day 7, does this look normal? I do see the veins but not sure how the dark spot is suppose to look.
I ordered silkie eggs online that are suppose to be here in 2 days. Just my luck, my AC went out and won't be fixed until next week. I know I have to let the eggs settle for 12 hours or so before putting them in an incubator. But my house is now at 90° or sometime warmer, is that too hot to...
Is it okay to have nesting boxes inside the run but outside of the coop? I was hoping to have a nesting box area inside the run but not in the coop so I would have easier access to the nesting boxes but looking for advice first.
I noticed this morning my 4 month old silkie laying in the same spot for a while so I picked her up and noticed she was becoming lethargic, not opening eyes, not holding up her weight so I have isolated her inside my garage and started giving poultry cell. I just saw this poop that looks watery...
Well after doing a bunch of research, I've come to the conclusion that I do have welsummers and not easter eggers 😪 I was looking forward to the colored eggs.
Sorry these are all the pictures I have, and some are older pictures. I got them from tractor supply website which comes from Hoovers Hatchery I believe.
We have a flock of sapphire gems and easter eggers that are the same age. We have 16 altogether and I believe 3 of them just started laying. I just don't know who's laying. We've had 6 eggs so far and they are all brown. I thought Easter eggers laid colored eggs and the sapphire gems laid the...
What would be the best way to clean poop out of our chicken run? We live in the desert so it's just pea gravel and dirt. It seems impossible to pick up all the little poop out of the rocks. We sprinkle barn lime around the run to help with smells.
