1. Their feathers grow at the same rate as a normal chick but their body grows faster. More mass means more insulation which ends up making you warmer. So yes you could probably put them out a little earlier than other chicks.
2. 3 feet by 2 feet is not very big for a brooder, I would say no...

yeah, I have a little giant still air too. I only used it once and got 15/29 to hatch and I did everything you are not supposed to do. the temp would go up to 106 and then down to 94 and all over the place but yet somehow I still managed a good hatch. Right now I've got 27 eggs in my bator set...
