    Dust baths

No I wish. We are just getting our homestead started. We are starting our own compost, garden, and we have chickens now.

I would just do dirt but we only have georgia red clay and I didn’t think that was a good option.

    Dust baths

I have 6 chicks that just moved out to the coop. I am working on setting up their dust bath. When they were much younger I gave them peat moss. What is the best mixture to use. I have food grade DE and more peat moss. Should I add something else?

Suggestions for a VERY muddy run?

I would get pine shavings ! Now I live in northeast Georgia so we don’t deal with your exact problem, but we have had very rough storms/ tornado weather mixed with Georgia red clay. The pine chips/shavings have helped us a lot!

Also the other chick I got from the breeder has green feet as well. I was curious about that compared to my other 4 chicks with yellow feet.

Help!! Trying to figure out breed!

I’m fine with whatever it may be and would LOVE an EE hen. Do you think this is a hen or roo? I have been guessing roo because the redness on the crown and waddles is just getting brighter and they are only 5 weeks.

Help!! Trying to figure out breed!

that what I was originally thinking, but then I thought it could possibly be a male isa brown with the crown and waddles already getting red.

Help!! Trying to figure out breed!

It can only be an Orpington or an isa brown. I know that for sure. May have crossed with an RIR roo.

Help!! Trying to figure out breed!

Hey everyone! I just started my flock! I’m super excited. I got 4 TSC chicks that are great and exactly what I paid for (I have heard that doesn’t happen too often 😂) I also got 2 chicks from a local breeder! I need help figuring out the breed of one of the chicks. The only eggs the breeder had...
