Talk to me about ethical meat birds practices.
This is my first year processing. I'm learning a lot as I go. We got 5 cornish× because that's what there seemed to be the most information about and they were most accessible to me. But I'm not going to lie, they're kinda making me depressed...
It does look graded that way but looking at the house we have a pond to the right and it's graded to run that way, the chickens would actually have high ground. We have more grading to do as well. After your feedback I'm definitely planning on taking out a lot of the trees. There's a lot dead...
They are actually my neighbors daffodils that the squirrels kindly replanted lol so I may just put them in a more... intentional spot. I feel like there's something more to this styrofoam peanut story 😅
The first is standing at the coop looking into the run. The second is standing at the coop and looking at my house.

I was definitely planning hardware cloth for the perimeter! It's not as far from the house as it looks this picture was actually taken from my back door. I have a few more shots of the run area. I was hoping having them in the wooded brushy area would give them some shade and protection also...

Thanks for the feedback! I was trying to differentiate between my answers and the questions but it was a white background when I was writing lol. I'll stick to normal black for future posts ;)
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new to chickens but I've been wanting them since probably 2015. We just didn't have a good location for them until recently. I've spent the last 10 years researching best practices for predator proofing! I got my first flock...
Thanks! I'm in working on posting a video! They're all very much acting normal. Flying around the brooder like crazy. Flying onto our laps when we open it up They don't shake their heads whole resting, I've noticed. They aren't all doing it only my three Easter eggers, but the two who are...
Hi everyone, I'm a new chicken mom and idk maybe I'm worried over nothing but these babes are giving me anxiety. I have 6 two week old chicks - 3 Easter eggers and 3 sapphire gems. 2 of them (EE) Tuesday night started shaking their heads more than usual. They are eating, drinking, preening...
